Bertha
Johnson is a long term resident of Haleyville. She was raised in a small community
outside of Russellville called Rockwood where her mother owned and operated a
boarding house. Her home was one of the first in Haleyville to have an
inground swimming pool and according sources she made it available to many children
during the hot summer months. She was Haleyville's First Council Woman
and continues to keep a close eye on the many changes the city of Haleyville is
growing through. She is known by her friends as being a very compassionate and
loving friend, often times taking time to lend an ear and offer up her solid,
sometimes whimisical opinions on issues. She is a wonderful hostess and
will not let you leave empty handed with goodies in tote and a warm welcome to
come back to visit again. Having recently undergone surgery on her shoulder, Bertha's
ever positive approach to the future is inspiring and worthy of our affections.
She is a member of the Church of Christ and has a birthday this month.
